Trying for a baby can be an emotional time particularly if you have been trying for a while. It can leave you feeling anxious, stressed and disappointed. Preconception reflexology aims to reduce stress and anxiety. It also aims to improve wellbeing, sleep and balancing hormones in your body. These are all factors that are important for conception.
Many factors effect fertility such as diet, nutrition, health problems, lifestyle and stress. Some couples find there is no particular reason for not being able to conceive. Stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol can interfere with the functioning of the reproductive organs. Prolonged periods of stress can cause the endocrine (hormonal) system of the body to become thrown out of balance.
Wellbeing Treatment can not guarantee preconception reflexology treatments will result in pregnancy. The treatments offered are beneficial in helping to improve wellbeing and reducing stress levels which can play a part in infertility.
Preconception Reflexology Treatments
The first session involves completing a health care consultation form and a discussion about fertility awareness. You will be given information on diet, nutrition and identifying signs of ovulation. This will be followed by a reflexology treatment. We will teach you simple hand reflexology techniques for you to do at home to enhance your treatments.
Our preconception reflexology treatments are for male and female clients. A course of 6 sessions is advised with the first 4 on a weekly basis. Subsequent sessions will be agreed to suit your needs. Discounts are available for block bookings.
Throughout pregnancy many changes take place in a woman’s body. Disruption in hormone levels can sometimes cause a variety of problems.
After the first trimester you can have regular sessions according to your needs eg;
- Digestive problems
- Blood sugar disorders
- Sleep disorders
- Nausea and vomiting
- Swelling in ankles and feet
Reflexology to promote natural labour
Treatments in the latter stages of pregnancy focus on specific reflexes. Some women have found they go into labour within a few days of these specialised reflexology treatments. A study conducted in the maternity unit at Walsall Manor Hospital found some women experienced shorter labour after reflexology.
Postnatal Care Reflexology
Pregnancy and labour put the body through a great deal of stress and strain. Regular reflexology treatments help the body to heal itself naturally. This helps restore balance to the endocrine system and all other systems of the body.
Post natal reflexology treatments provide the perfect opportunity for you to look after your health and give you some essential time for yourself.
